Benjamin Ball: The Uprooting (swf, 8.3mb)
Benjamin Ball transferred into the HSS Journalism degree as a mature age student, after studying Nursing/International Studies at the UTS. He is currently in second year. This ongoing project documents the lives of Colombia's internally displaced population, numbering some three and a half million people, in the form of black and white photography and short text. Ben lived in Colombia for one year after completing his international studies program in Chile.
Grassroots
Journalism students from the University of Technology, Sydney have teamed up with the Sydney Morning Herald to cover grassroots issues during the New South Wales state election campaign 2007.

The UTS Journalism curriculum reflects the changes in media production and distribution resulting from the Internet and digital technologies. This section represents some of the work researched, written and produced by students enrolled in Online Journalism from 2000 to the present.

Postgraduate student Stephanie Raison is one of many journalism students who regularly broadcasts on 2 SER.
Anna Greer: Wo Magazine
Honours Journalism student Anna Greer has already completed her Journalism / International studies degree with a major in Chinese language. During her time at UTS she has been a production editor of Reportage and Newsday. As part her Honours year, she has recently launched Wo Magazine designed to appeal to younger women who are interested in feminism. Other UTS journalism students are contributing to her magazine.
Jennifer Robertson: An Anarchist and a Mother (pdf, 65kb)
Jennifer Robertson has just completed her BA in Communications (Journalism). Her short story, Paradise, was published in the Griffith Review in 2005. Another of her short stories, Nice Girls, was published in Meanjin.
This short story, An Anarchist and a Mother, has been taken from the UTS Writers' Anthology 2006: Making Tracks. The Anthology is published by ABC Books and is available through ABC Shops, ABC Centres and all good bookshops.
